Image Sizing

Standard website images are suggested to be no larger that 2000 pixels on it longest edge or 500KB (0.5MB). The best image format is Jpeg.  However if looking for a transparent background then a PNG format is excellent.

When saving images, it is important to maintain the images size and resolution.  Do not save in a smaller size. By “image size”, we’re referring to the image pixel dimensions (width and height in pixels), or the image file size (KB or MB).

But we are NOT referring to the image size in inches/cm or to the image DPI.  On the web, DPI is irrelevant and only pixel dimensions matter!

File Name Format

When uploading document or image files, please try to SAVE the files using the page name in the file name.  When saving file names, we recommend adding hyphens instead of spaces in the names. For example:

home.doc

home-banner.jpg

about.doc

client-name.jpg

testimonials.doc

page-name-subpage-name.jpg

ZIP Multiple Files into One Folder

Like other archives, ZIP files are data containers, they store one or more files in the compressed form. You may only upload images using this form. If you upload any other file type, your upload will fail.

Create a zip file on Windows

Add your jpg images to a folder, then right click on the folder and select Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder. You will end up with both the original and a zipped copy.

Create a zip file on a Mac

Add your jpg images to a file, then CTRL-click on the file and select Create Archive. You will also find the option in the File menu. Either way, you will end up with both the original and a zipped archive copy.
